My 600-lb Life: Wess Schulze Had a Tough TLC Journey
Wess Schulze, one of the recent cast members from Season 11, was 36 years old when TLC cameras filmed his episode. Wess had some mobility at the beginning of his episode, but to say he was on his last leg was by no means an exaggeration.
He had to keep his legs elevated because of his lymphedema. Thus, he was forced to spend most of his time in bed. In fact, he could only walk about 50 feet on his best day before having to stop.
Suffice it to say; he needed to do something drastic if he wanted to turn things around. And, it got to a point where he could no longer justify the way he was living – especially not if he wanted to lose weight.
TLC Celeb Turned Things Around in a Big Way
During his TLC episode, Wess Schulze dropped over 200 pounds, becoming eligible for bariatric surgery in the process. And considering how he had begun, it was a significant change.
Wess dropped only 10 pounds on Dr. Now’s diet after two months. After that wake-up call, he really got things moving. And according to his most recent posts, he has kept up his healthy routine since the episode’s filming was finished.
He is, in fact, half the man he once was, based on his most recent social media posts. And in a lot of ways, he is one of the biggest success stories from Season 11 of the TLC weight loss show.
My 600-lb Life: Wess Reaches New Weight Loss Milestone
Even though Wess Schulze turned things around in a big way by the end of his My 600-lb Life episode, it’s also possible for patients to fall off the wagon and relapse once they don’t have a camera crew following them around or Dr. Now to keep them in check.
Luckily for Wess, based on the latest updates, not only has he kept up his healthy habits, but he recently reached another weight loss milestone. According to the TLC celeb, he can now wear his seatbelt comfortably in the car he has owned for four years.
Indeed, Wess Schulze shared a pic with his many My 600-lb Life followers to mark the occasion. And, judging by the expression on his face, no one is more surprised by this than he is. Wess added that it’s all about “small steps” toward “milestone moments”.
Unfortunately, Wess Schulze didn’t give his followers a clear figure in terms of numbers on a scale. But, the fact that he can finally wear his seatbelt comfortably after so many years is certainly encouraging.
And based on his latest achievement, he is one step closer to his weight loss goals as the congratulatory messages from his My 600-lb Life fans continue to pour in.
