My 600-lb Life Season 11 continues with Stephanie Smith’s journey on TLC. And like every cast member before her, Stephanie comes with her own bag of issues that derailed her progress up to this point in her life. But where is she since her episode filmed?
My 600-lb Life: Stephanie Smith Afraid of Going to Sleep at Night
When My 600-lb Life cameras catch up with Stephanie Smith at the beginning of her TLC episode, her story is like many before her. She is at a point in her life where her weight is such an issue that she worries about going to sleep every night, because she isn’t sure that she will wake up the next day.
In addition, a mass has formed between her legs that make things like moving around even harder for her. Suffice it to say; it’s not a surprise as to why she is in need of Dr. Now’s help, as her problems are very obvious even a few minutes into her episode.
TLC Celeb Has a Tough Road Ahead
Like many My 600-lb Life cast members, previous trauma and hardship led to Stephanie Smith turning to food to cope. Her father died in a car accident when she was younger. And, that financial hardship led to her being put into foster care for some time.
Stephanie was put into foster care because her mother was deemed unfit to care for her. So in a lot of ways, it was like losing both parents. So, it’s clear Stephanie has a lot to work through before she even gets to Dr. Now’s Houston office.
And by the time she gets to his office in Houston, she is 611 pounds. So even after the strenuous five-day drive to get there, Stephanie’s work is only just beginning.
TLC Celeb Derails Her Progress
Despite a promising start after visiting Dr. Now for her first appointment in Houston, things take a turn for the worse on Stephanie’s journey. And, despite wanting to “get healthy” for her kids, it seems Stephanie falls off the wagon.
Unfortunately for Stephanie, her mother getting sick is a big part of what sets her back. But, as the episode continues, things go from bad to worse. Even though Stephanie claims to be down to 530 by month five, it’s not enough based on Dr. Now’s standards.
And, making matters even worse, she shot back up to 602 by the time she went back to Dr. Now’s office in Houston. Meanwhile, even though Stephanie admits that her overeating is a problem, she doesn’t sound like she has the motivation to keep going even though she says all the right things while in front of Dr. Now.
Where is My 600-lb Life Celeb Now?
It turns out, Stephanie Smith doesn’t have a very active presence on social media. In addition, the majority of the pics online are from the shoulders up. So, it’s hard to say how much weight she has lost since her episode wrapped, if any.
Based on some pics online, Stephanie still seems heavy in the face. In addition, many of the pics appear to be heavily filtered. And, between not answering Dr. Now’s calls and not listening to his advice, it’s not hard to imagine Stephanie falling back into her usual bad habits.
By the end of her episode, Stephanie loses a measly total of 15 pounds – way behind what she needed to qualify for weight loss surgery. And, based on her recent pics, it doesn’t appear as though she has lost much, either.
Making matters worse, Stephanie eventually blocked Dr. Now and blew off an appointment they set up for her. So, unfortunately, if Stephanie was unable to lose weight under Dr. Now’s watch, the odds of her developing better habits on her own are slim to none.
