TLC just dropped a fresh teaser for the upcoming fourth season of The Other Way. So what do we know about the new cast that features one returning pair? Here’s everything we know so far.
TLC Gives 90 Day Fiance Fans a Twist with The Other Way
With 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, TLC gives viewers a different perspective on things when compared with the flagship show. Americans travel to the home countries of their foreign love interests to live together and build a new life abroad.
And as viewers of 90 Day Fiance have witnessed in the past, culture clash is a common occurrence as Americans frequently find it difficult to acclimate to the traditions and values of the other nations that their partners are from. And most recently, TLC released a brand new Season 4 teaser.
All-New Couples Featured in The Other Way Season 4
A brand new season of The Other Way means a fresh crop of cast members willing to risk it all for love. And this new batch is no different. Below are the new couples 90 Day Fiance fans can expect on the new season.
Debbie (Georgia) & Oussama (Morocco)
Despite Debbie being 43 years older than Oussama, they fell in love because their spirits were drawn to one another via their shared passion for art. Debbie is getting ready to move to Morocco to be with Oussama and live there for the rest of her days. Indeed, Debbie is entering into this chapter of her life with her eyes and heart wide open, despite the doubts of her family.
Interestingly, Morocco has also produced the likes of Azan Tefou. So it isn’t a stretch to say that there have been some doozy’s when it comes to this country. And based on spoilers for the upcoming season, Debbie says Oussama is “creepy”, and that he took her trust and “urinated” all over it, according to her. So it will be interesting to see if they can come back from this as a couple.
Gabriel (Florida) & Isabel (Colombia)
Gabe, an aspiring entrepreneur, goes to Colombia for business. When he meets Isabel there, she accepts him for the transgender man he is. But, even though they accept each other, they worry about whether or not Isabel’s family will accept him and the love they share.
Adding even more drama to this 90 Day Fiance storyline, it appears, based on spoilers, that Gabe keeps his past hidden from Isabel’s family at first. And how they will react to the news that he used to be a woman is certainly going to be a nail-biter in this pair’s storyline in Season 4 of The Other Way.
Understandably, Isabel doesn’t want to be put in a position to have to choose between Gabe or her family. And based on teasers, the new season seems to set the stage for just that.
Kris (Alabama) & Jeymi (Colombia)
Kris has overcome many obstacles throughout her life, but she has finally established a solid base for her family in the US. She moves to Colombia to wed Jeymi, whom she has never met in person, risking everything in the process. With their wedding set for just a few days after Kris lands in Colombia, time is running out, and the pressure is on.
Meanwhile, based on spoilers for 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way Season 4, Kris and Jeymi get into a shouting match, with one of them storming out of the room. So if nothing else, it looks like the honeymoon phase in Colombia is cut short in upcoming scenes. And whether or not they actually go through with the wedding will be another thing worth tuning in to see.
One Familiar 90 Day Fiance Couple Makes the Jump & More
Daniele (New York) & Yohan (Dominican Republic)
With so many new couples introduced by TLC in The Other Way Season 4, there’s one pair that viewers have seen before. Daniele Gates and Yohan Geronimo make the jump from Love in Paradise to The Other Way. But as spoilers reveal, it’s not all marital bliss for these two.
Indeed, one of the biggest things the couple fights over is gender roles and expectations. As much as it’s part of the Dominican culture for the man to be the breadwinner, Daniele is the one paying all the bills. And because she wears the pants in this relationship, the New Yorker needs her man to step up and contribute.
Nicole (California) & Mahmoud (Egypt)
Nicole was on a spiritual tour of Egypt when she ran into Mahmoud in a fabric store. He got down on one knee the very first day. Three weeks later, Nicole returned to Egypt to get married, keeping her loved ones in the dark until after the event. Now that she’s committed, Nicole is ready to relocate to Egypt, but she worries that some cultural barriers could be too great to surmount.
According to teasers for the upcoming spinoff season, things in Egypt are a little too restrictive for Nicole, especially considering the type of life she is used to in America. And from the looks of it, culture clash comes to the forefront for these two with full force. But will it ultimately end their union if they can’t reach a compromise?
Jen (Oklahoma) & Rishi (India)
At first glance, this looks like another Jenny Slatten and Sumit situation based on what we know so far about this new TLC pair. While on vacation in India, where they had first met in a hotel lobby, Jen decided to avoid Rishi. But, after a month had passed, she accepted his marriage proposal. Meanwhile, because his relatives want to organize an arranged marriage for him, and because they are unaware of his relationship with Jen, Rishi is under a lot of pressure from his family.
And with Sumit Singh and Jenny Slatten moving over to Happily Ever After, it looks like TLC found their replacement. Because, in addition to having the same name as Jenny, this new Jen is also much older than her Indian love interest.
But, unlike with Sumit and Jenny, keeping secrets from Rishi’s parents isn’t the only thing this par has to worry about. Based on teasers, Rishi is caught sending shirtless pics to Jen’s friends. So, that’s a whole new can of worms to contend with when their storyline airs.
