As 90 Day Fiance fans know, TLC features a lot of mismatched pairs on both the main franchise and its spinoffs. And in the case of Ella Johnson and Johnny Chao, they had a lot working against them as a couple.
Despite wanting to meet up in person on their 90 Day Fiance season, that never came to pass for this TLC pair, as the pandemic threw a wrench into their travel plans – leading them to carry on with an online-only relationship for years.
Even so, despite claims that Johnny Chao was Ella’s “Asian Prince”, many watchers commented on how cringe some of their scenes were. And, not surprisingly, many viewers didn’t think the pair would make it for the long haul.

Particularly on shows like 90 Day Fiance, where couples can spend years apart, due to visa denials, money problems, or in this case, the pandemic, many viewers feel there was no excuse for Ella to do what she did. And this is especially true when there are couples like Rachel Walters and Jon Walters out there – who remain loyal to one another despite all the time they’ve been kept apart.

Since filming scenes with Johnny Chao, Ella Johnson has largely kept a low profile – until recently. In addition to confirming that she and Johnny are no longer together, Ella also told her fans that she is in the middle of a weight loss journey.
As fans remember, Ella was always on the bigger side. But after everything she has been through recently, it seems she decided to channel her energy into something positive – losing weight.
As of right now, Ella told her fans that she has dropped 25 pounds so far. And regardless of how viewers feel about the American woman, that is certainly still a major accomplishment. And judging by the most recent pics she shared, you can certainly see a difference.
