As 7 Little Johnstons fans are aware, Season 12 of the popular TLC show is in full swing. And yet again, viewers get to see all the comings and goings of this family. And only a few episodes into the brand new season, there’s plenty more in store.
Meanwhile, with shows like The Little Couple not on the air since 2019, and Little People Big World in between seasons, new 7 Little Johnstons episodes fill the gap for all the little people fans needing to get their fix. And based on the few episodes that already aired, there has been no shortage of drama.
Amber Johnston & Trent Johnston Lay Down the Law
7 Little Johnstons mom and dad, Trent and Amber Johnston, make no secret of the fact that they are controlling parents. And while many viewers can understand that to a degree, it’s a different story in the eyes of many fans when it comes to the TLC couple’s adult children.
Case in point is how Trent and Amber handle Jonah and his relationship with his girlfriend, Ashley. Because Jonah moved back into his parents’ house, Amber and Trent wanted the boyfriend and girlfriend to sleep in different rooms when Ashley came over for a weekend.
Not surprisingly, Amber and Trent took a their house, their rules approach to the whole thing – with Jonah and Ashley not only sleeping in different rooms, but on different floors as well.
7 Little Johnstons Fans Slam Amber & Trent’s Controlling Ways
Even though fans understand Amber and Trent’s rules to a degree, the vast majority of fans think they take things too far – especially given the fact that their son is an adult.
As spoilers for the current season have shown, Amber and Trent have gone through Johan’s phone, reading text exchanges between him and his girlfriend. And not surprisingly, viewers agree this is an invasion of Jonah’s privacy.
And based on fan reactions, many don’t pull any punches. One fan said that there is something clearly “wrong” with the TLC parents – especially since Jonah is in his 20s. The same 7 Little Johnstons fan went on to slam Amber Johnston for being “extremely controlling”.
Meanwhile, another viewer said Amber and Trent are “overbearing” and “gross” when it comes to this situation with Jonah and trying to keep him and Ashley apart. So if nothing else, the TLC parents are certainly losing a lot of points among fans, given how they handled this situation.
