’90 Day Fiance’: Patrick Mendes Shady Business Dealings Exposed?

90 Day Fiance cast member Patrick Mendes is no stranger to stepping outside the lines to get ahead. And based on the latest tea making the rounds, he seems to apply the same shady practices to his business dealings as well. So what’s the latest?

90 Day Fiance: Patrick Mendes’ Shady Past

As 90 Day Fiance fans that have been keeping up with Patrick Mendes likely know, at one point in time, he was an Olympic weightlifter. And while that is an accomplishment in and of itself, he is best known for how he left that part of his life behind him.

Thais Ramone’s 90 Day Fiance flame was busted for doping – not once, but twice. And in doing so, he largely kissed his Olympic weightlifting career goodbye. Moreover, based on some recent tea spilling on his business practices, it seems his penchant for cutting corners extends beyond pumping iron.

TLC Celeb Seemingly Well Off

Based on Patrick Mendes’s lifestyle since leaving competitive weightlifting behind, he has certainly done quite well for himself. Even though it’s not to Thais’ liking, he has a home and has no problem splurging on things like new iPhones and trips to Brazil.

It turns out, Patrick Mendes works for a company called Vivint Smart Home. The company uses door-to-door sales reps to sell “home security and internet-connected smart-home devices”, according to Deseret News.

And according to Thais Ramone, her 90 Day Fiance love interest, Patrick Mendes, works “non-stop” – even when he traveled to Brazil to see her. But much like his history with competitive weightlifting, it seems Patrick may have cut corners in his working life too.

90 Day Fiance Celeb Bringing Sketchy Practices to the Workplace?

According to Thais Ramone, Patrick Mendes has a “team” of people that he works with – going door-to-door to sell Vivint products to customers. And while the company may seem harmless on the surface, Vivint has had to pay out millions in settlement money for frauding customers.

More specifically, it’s alleged that salespeople for the company “improperly” obtained credit reports in order to qualify customers for their products and services. In a press release, Daniel Kaufman, acting director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, said: “Vivint’s sales staff stole people’s personal information to approve others for loans”. And for “misusing consumer credit reports and other sensitive data, and harming people’s credit, this company will pay $20 million”.

Indeed, it’s not certain how much of these shady business practices Patrick Mendes has been involved in. However, given his past actions and his propensity to step outside the lines to suit his own needs, it’s not hard to imagine Patrick and his team cutting a few corners to make a buck. And at the very least, engaging in these practices may explain how he is able to afford the lifestyle he does.
