On 90 Day Fiance, Chantel and Pedro first publicly acknowledged their romance. In order to be together and eventually be married, the young couple faced a long-distance relationship and harsh family conflict. However, it was evident that the pair struggled with their marriage in The Family Chantel episodes.
The current season revealed a significantly altered Pedro. He seems to have entirely forgotten about his spouse and is concerned only with his colleagues and real estate job. Meanwhile, Chantel has been putting in a lot of effort as a nurse and taking care of the housework in currently-airing scenes. Indeed, many viewers called Pedro out for checking out of the marriage.
Pedro Files for Divorce – Chantel Bails with $257K?
Along with being entirely checked out of their marriage during Season 4 of The Family Chantel, Pedro was the one to initiate their divorce. Pedro initially filed for divorce on May 27. In addition, Chantel and Pedro both requested restraining orders against one another on the same day that Pedro submitted his divorce petition.
According to documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Chantel is claiming that Pedro abused her and was unfaithful. And according to TMZ, Pedro accused Chantel of depleting their joint bank account to the tune of $257K.
Things Getting Messy for The Family Chantel Pair
According to ET, Chantel is claiming that her husband treated her cruelly, including “physical domestic violence” and “mental pain”. In addition, Chantel said that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” – with “no hope” of repair.
And when news of The Family Chantel couple’s split became public, Chantel filed these documents. Interestingly, one month before Pedro requested a divorce, on April 27, the duo was listed as being separated.
Moreover, according to Pedro’s emergency motion filed in May, Chantel took $257,000 out of their joint bank account five days before they separated. Chantel allegedly transferred the funds into a joint account that she and her sister, Winter Everett, share.
In addition, the pair recently bought a house as well. So what happens with that will be interesting to see as the divorce drama heats up.
Chantel and Pedro’s divorce is likely to be messy. Chantel’s family is a close-knit unit, even though they eventually accepted Pedro into the fold. Interestingly, Chantel’s family accused Pedro early on of using her for a green card. And now that he is established in America, many The Family Chantel fans feel as though his ruse is complete.
Pedro Jimeno now has a real estate career, and he has become close with his colleagues. In fact, many viewers believe Pedro cheated on Chantel with one of his co-workers. And now that their divorce is pending, Pedro is certainly free to pursue who he chooses.

The major issue is the problem that Chantel’s family seem to have creeped into Chantel and Pedro’s marriage. That Karen is so busy body, even with her oldest son. The marriage in The Philippines showed another reason why Chantel’s family (Karen) is somewhat ignorant and really disgraceful in her actions. She is THE KAREN of ALL KARENS for sure. I find this article to focus on Chantel and her family being taken advantage with the green card issue and the way how Pedro took advantage. If Chantel would have just focused on her marriage and not go running to her family when problems arose… it may have been different.
