Welcome to Plathville: Ethan Plath Cut off Contact with His Parents
As Welcome to Plathville fans know, things haven’t been on good terms between Barry Plath, Kim Plath, and their oldest son, Ethan Plath. Previously, Olivia said the situation between them and Ethan’s parents was “toxic” – going so far as forbidding Ethan from seeing his siblings unsupervised.
With all of that Welcome to Plathville tension present, Ethan and Olivia decided they needed “space” – which eventually led to them cutting off contact. Meanwhile, based on teasers, Barry and Ethan build a bridge after not being on speaking terms.
Tense Reunion in TLC Scenes
Spoilers reveal Ethan comes home to see his father and siblings – minus his mother, Kim Plath. As fans know, things are still in a bad place between Ethan and his mother. But Ethan’s willingness to compromise and see his father can certainly be seen as a step toward mending fences.
Barry Plath says in teasers that he feels a “change in the wind”, and he seems hopeful to establish a connection with his son again. And even though Barry is “sorrowful” that Ethan is not ready to reconnect with his mother, he seems grateful to take what he can. Barry adds in teasers that Kim decided to “bow out” to give father and son the space to reconnect.
As for Ethan, he says in Welcome to Plathville spoilers that the new Plathville home is “twice the size” of what he grew up in. And he says that being there with his father and siblings has him “off guard” after all the “family drama” they’ve been through.
Welcome to Plathville: TLC Teases Tense Face-Off Between Kim & Ethan
With Ethan returning home to see his father and siblings, TLC teases an even bigger reunion as Ethan faces off with his mother, Kim, in upcoming scenes. The upcoming scene is emotionally-charged right from the outset, as the family meets in front of Joshua Plath’s grave.
Joshua Plath lost his life at 17 months when Kim Plath hit her son with her vehicle. And based on where Ethan stands, he doesn’t forgive his mother for her part in his brother’s death. And if nothing else, this homecoming for Ethan sets the stage for what’s to come.
