90 Day Fiance Season 9 introduces fans to new couple Emily Bieberly and Kobe Blaise. And right out of the gate, they wasted no time talking about money. But is Kobe really broke?
90 Day Fiance: Emily Bieberly & Kobe Blaise on New Season
Emily Bieberly and Kobe Blaise are on the brand new 90 Day Fiance season. And already, fans call out a number of issues for the couple. One thing a lot of fans agree on early on is that Emily is too demanding.
As 90 Day Fiance fans know, Kobe Blaise wanted to meet his son as soon as he touched down in America. But, Emily Bieberly had other ideas. She purposely left Koban behind so that she and Kobe could have a night together. And according to many fans, that was shady on her part.
Emily Grills Kobe About Money
According to Emily Bieberly, Kobe was an underwear model when the pair first met in China. Meanwhile, now that he is officially in the United States in current episodes, Emily worries about money. And, more specifically, how much her man is bringing to the table.
As 90 Day Fiance watchers see, Kobe is dodgy when confronted directly about his financial situation. He claims to have invested $2k into a cafe in Cameroon. And according to him, he was able to get that money back.
Even so, he skates past direct questions from Emily regarding how much he currently has in his bank account. And he even goes as far as to say that the amount he has is a “surprise”.
And even though some 90 Day Fiance fans think Emily was too pushy when it came to giving her man the third degree, some think he is flat broke given his reluctance to give his American flame a direct answer.
Is New TLC Star Broke?
As 90 Day Fiance fans know, despite the popularity of the franchise and its numerous spinoffs, cast members don’t get paid much. Which is why, not surprisingly, they leverage their social followings to make money from things like Cameo videos and reels.
But a lot of the time, you have to be a liked or hated cast member to garner such a following. And in Kobe Blaise’s case, because he is new to the franchise, his following stands at just a little over 3k – nothing to write home about, and nothing to leverage into other income streams compared to many other TLC stars.
So, based on being new to the franchise and still being in the process of building a following, he may want to hold onto whatever he made from his business deal – assuming there’s anything left.
