‘7 Little Johnstons’: Emma Johnston Overcomes Silent Struggles

7 Little Johnstons star Emma Johnston is the youngest of the children that Amber and Trent raise. Unlike Liz and Jonah, she was adopted, just like her sister Anna and her brother Alex.

Like other kids, she has a life outside of reality TV. And even though Emma has a fun personality, she has dealt with her share of struggles too.

7 Little Johnstons: Emma Johnston Was Five When She Was Adopted

When fans first met Emma, her story revealed that she was little when Amber and Trent went to meet her in China. Over the years, fans saw that she got along well with her brother, Alex. And she seems to get along with her mom and dad way better than her big sister, Anna.

The 7 Little Johnstons teen is seldom in the dog house like her big brother, Jonah. Overall, her personality is rather easygoing, and she’s always up for fun. However, she struggles in some areas, and fans might not be aware that she finds it difficult dealing with folks outside of her immediate family.

Emma Enjoyed Cheerleading But She Gave it Up

Cheerleading was a passion for the 7 Little Johnstons star – and she was really good at it. In fact, she was even co-captain of her team. However, back in 2018, she felt a bit too shy to take on the responsibility.

Anyway, it’s not clear if that made her change her mind about the sport. Later, she revealed that she had given it up. To this day, she has not explained why. Hopefully, it’s not related to skeletal problems that tend to plague little people.

The 7 Little Johnstons star struggled with shyness because she needed speech therapy. When you see that bubbly personality on TLC, it’s hard to imagine that she battled with stringing words together.

Emma Johnston Doesn’t Brag About Being a TV Star

Most folks who watch 7 Little Johnstons might think Emma would tell everyone she meets that she is featured on a reality TV show. However, that natural shyness seems to creep in when it comes to school lessons. She doesn’t speak about it with her teachers or her fellow students. Indeed, she feels that telling folks all about the show would get in the way of her precious study time.

Meanwhile, on top of filming 7 Little Johnstons episodes and balancing school, Emma has a successful business on Etsy. There, she has hand-made jewelry that sells fast. Certainly, with her mind for business, she thinks ahead to the day when the reality TV show might not be her primary source of income – particularly with cancelation rumors making the rounds.
