As Sister Wives films months in advance, fans travel back in time, essentially, when the show airs. The pandemic was a primary focus in Season 15. And so far this season, many watchers are annoyed with the continued pandemic storyline. Meanwhile, viewers keeping up with the Brown family on social media know that Ysabel, the daughter of Christine, had back surgery in September/October last year. And both of these storylines bring drama this season.
Of course, Meri Brown still hangs around the Sister Wives family like a spare part, and many fans feel sorry for her. Meanwhile, on the show, she attended a party with social distancing requirements. And, social distancing during the pandemic is certainly a recurring theme.
Robyn Brown Makes the Rules?
Christine Brown left Kody for a happier single life in Utah. And she made it clear in Sister Wives episodes that she couldn’t stand the fact that Kody and Robyn carry on as a married couple. And it’s no secret that the other wives play second fiddle to her. Meanwhile, other wives barely see him. Certainly, COVID restrictions distanced Christine and the other wives from Kody. But fans suspect that Robyn’s behind the ridiculous rules, including no kids playing together, no touching, and vast spaces between everyone.
In a previous Sister Wives episode, fans saw that Robyn brought in a nanny to help with her kids. So naturally, fans reacted – slamming her for it. Then, fans talked about Ysabel and her back surgery. And how, because of Kody’s restrictions, she has to go through the process primarily on her own.

Many critics of Sister Wives think that Kody and Robyn invented all the restrictions to keep him with her – and to exert power over the rest of the family. Clearly, she’s not all that much into a polygamous lifestyle.
Meanwhile, Sister Wives fans think that behind all the sobbing, Robyn loves that Christine left her man. And that’s why many fans think they both use COVID as an excuse to cut off the rest of the family.
As viewers know in real-time, Christine leaves Kody. So, all these added restrictions playing out in current episodes could also be a way to hold the reins tighter as he loses control of that situation and feels her slipping away.
